Description

Interior Detail Is The Only Part Of A Car The Owner Sees Every Day.

Nobody buys a car for the headrest posts. They are the cheapest piece of exposed metal in the cabin, and they are also the two points your eye crosses every time you turn around, which makes them a disproportionately effective place to spend sixteen pounds. These collars slide over the poles in seconds and turn a bare rod into a chrome-finished ring set with imported crystal.

The body is copper with a clay core, finished in heavy chrome plating that holds its shape rather than bending at the first tug. Each ring measures twenty-four millimetres across with a fourteen-millimetre inner diameter, which clears the standard headrest post on almost every passenger vehicle. The crystal is set into the face of the ring, so the sparkle reads from the front seats and from outside the car through the window.

Four rings ship together, which is the correct number: two for each front headrest, or one per post if you are fitting front and rear. No modification is required and no tools are involved. The interior upgrade takes under a minute and reverses just as quickly if the car returns to a lease company or a dealer.

There is a practical argument beyond appearance as well. The chrome collar covers the bare post where the headrest height adjustment rubs, and it keeps the paint on the post from being scratched as the headrest moves. In a rideshare or family vehicle where the headrest is adjusted constantly, that is the difference between a post that still looks new at resale and one that is scored and dull. Cleaning is a wipe with a dry microfibre cloth, and the crystal face is set flush enough that it does not collect lint the way an open setting would.

A cabin is judged by the details the driver stopped noticing a year ago. Start with the ones that catch the light.

Where It Belongs

This is the accessory that suits the car someone actually likes, whether that is a daily driver, a weekend SUV or a van converted for travel. It also reads differently depending on the colourway chosen: white and AB crystal for a bright, showroom look, black or rose for a cabin with a dark interior, and pink or red where the car is already personal rather than practical. Detailers use the set as a finishing touch on a client's interior. Because it is reversible, it also works on a leased vehicle that has to go back standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will these fit my car's headrest posts?

A: The inner bore is fourteen millimetres, which clears the standard headrest post on virtually all cars, SUVs and trucks. If your posts are unusually thick, measure before ordering.

Q: Do I need to remove the headrest to fit them?

A: No. The collar is a split ring that slips over the post directly, which is why fitting takes under a minute with no tools.

Q: Does the chrome plating flake over time?

A: The body is copper with a clay core and a heavy chrome finish, which is the combination that resists deformation and flaking better than a thin plated shell.

Q: How many collars come in the set?

A: Four. That covers both front headrests with two collars per post if you prefer a stacked look, or one per post across front and rear seats.

Q: Will they rattle when driving?

A: No. The collar seats against the headrest itself with a snug bore clearance, so there is no free movement to generate noise.

Q: Can they be used on anything other than headrests?

A: The bore and dimensions suit headrest posts, and the same ring format is often used on other slim cylindrical fittings where a chrome accent is wanted.

Looks good, chose the wrong colour

Bought red for a black interior and it is a bolder look than I expected. The quality is there and the finish is excellent. Ordering a second set in white to decide which I prefer.

Fitted in under a minute

Slid straight over the headrest posts with no tools and no rattling on the motorway. The fourteen millimetre bore cleared the posts on my car with a small amount of clearance.

Solid metal, not a flimsy shell

The copper body with the clay core means these hold their shape. I have had cheaper pairs that bent the first time a passenger adjusted the headrest, and these show no deformation at all.

Instant upgrade to a plain interior

Fitted four on the front and rear headrests of my SUV. The chrome reads well against a dark interior and the crystal catches the light from outside the car, which the photos do not fully show.
