Description

A small venue lives or dies on predictability. A room washed in the same amber looks deliberate on a Tuesday and exhausted by Friday. The Rig Light gives a space four flat par fixtures that change character in minutes, whether the cue comes from a lighting desk, a sound source, or a preset running on the fixture itself. Four fixtures at 80 watts each cover a stage edge, a bar front or a four point truss without needing a dedicated lighting operator on staff.

Each unit carries fourteen 6W RGBW four-in-one LED beads. Mixing happens inside the bead rather than across separate red, green, blue and white emitters, so the beam stays clean at the edges and colour transitions do not split into fringing rings. Output is dimmed on a linear 0 to 100 percent curve with a blackout function, which matters when a fixture has to disappear on cue rather than fade through grey. Power draw is 80W per fixture on a 90 to 240V input, so the same set travels between a European club and a UK function room without a transformer.

Control sits on four or eight DMX channels, with sound active, master slave and self propelled auto modes for the nights when nobody wants to run a console. A handheld remote reaches five to ten metres, enough to adjust a fixture from the floor without climbing a ladder. The housing is black composite with a flat profile, and each light ships with two brackets and screws for truss, wall or floor placement. The power cord runs 120cm. Heat is handled by the body rather than a fan, so an open microphone does not pick up a hum.

Light is the cheapest way to change a room that has not changed at all.

Why This Earns Its Place

  • ✦Four fixtures per set, fourteen 6W RGBW four-in-one LED beads each
  • ✦80W per fixture on 90 to 240V input, no external transformer needed
  • ✦DMX512 on 4 or 8 channels plus sound active, master slave and auto modes
  • ✦Linear 0 to 100 percent dimming with blackout for clean cue changes
  • ✦Handheld remote with 5 to 10 metre range for floor level adjustment
  • ✦Flat black composite housing with two mounting brackets and screws per unit
  • ✦Fanless heat dissipation so an open microphone stays clean

Where It Belongs

Mobile DJs load and unload in the dark, so fixture weight and bracket design decide whether a four point rig goes up in fifteen minutes or forty. Bars and small clubs use the set as permanent wash lighting on a truss or wall, where the fanless body keeps the room quiet. Function rooms and wedding venues run them in sound active mode with no operator at all, and rehearsal studios use the flat profile to light a corner without a stand falling into frame.

Questions Buyers Ask

Q: Do I need a lighting console to use these?

No. Each fixture runs in sound active, master slave or automatic mode on its own. A console is only required when you want precise cueing across the set, and then it works on four or eight DMX channels.

Q: What is the difference between the plug variants?

The set ships as four fixtures with either UK or EU plugs, matched to the shipping warehouse. Both run on 90 to 240V, so the internal electronics are identical.

Q: How bright is one fixture?

Fourteen 6W RGBW beads at 80W total output per fixture. That is enough for a stage edge or a bar front at close range, and four fixtures cover a small room as a wash.

Q: Can they be mounted on a wall instead of a truss?

Each unit ships with two brackets and screws, so wall, floor and truss mounting are all possible. The bracket angle adjusts the beam without moving the housing.

Q: Will colour mixing show separate red and green edges?

No. The four-in-one bead mixes inside a single lens, which avoids the coloured fringing that appears on fixtures built from separate emitters.

Q: Can I run them without a fan noise issue?

The body handles heat dissipation without a fan, which is the reason the set stays usable in rooms with open microphones and recorded audio.

Lightweight and quiet

No fan, so no hum through the vocal mic, which was the whole reason I moved away from my previous set. Housing is plastic but the flat profile sits tight against a truss. Would buy a second set for the function room.

DMX worked first time

Patched them on eight channels on our console and every function mapped as expected. Dimming is linear which matters for a slow fade out. The brackets are sturdy enough for a wall mount and the remote is handy for trimming the aim from the floor.

Four fixtures changed the room

We run a small bar and these replaced two old par cans that were never enough. Four flat units across a truss give an even wash and the colour mixing inside the bead means no red and green fringing on the wall. Sound active mode covers the nights nobody is on the desk.
