Customers bring in power tools with 'dead batteries' and half the time it's the charger or the tool's power management, not the cells. This tester lets me give them a definitive answer with data to back it up. The under-voltage cutoff protection means I can run an unattended discharge test overnight without worrying about destroying the battery. Paid for itself in the first month through avoided unnecessary battery replacements.

The lab-grade features at a hobbyist price

I teach electronics at a makerspace and this tester is now our go-to for battery characterization workshops. The four-wire measurement concept alone is worth the price as a teaching tool — students can literally see the difference between two-wire and Kelvin sensing by switching connections. The constant-resistance mode is perfect for demonstrating Peukert's law. The CNC aluminum housing takes abuse in a shared workshop environment.

Good for LiFePO4 bank testing, wish it had higher power limit

I use this to verify 48V LiFePO4 battery banks before commissioning solar installations. The four-wire measurement gives me accurate capacity numbers that I can provide to clients as documentation. At 150W, it's sufficient for individual cell characterization but a bit slow for full 5kWh bank testing — that's more a limitation of the price class than the product. The CSV logging works flawlessly with our reporting workflow.

Essential tool for FPV pilots

I verify every LiPo pack before a long-range flight and this tester has already caught two packs that would have put my quad in a field 3km out. The constant-power discharge mode is particularly useful for simulating actual flight loads rather than just draining at constant current. The TFT display is clear and the fan cooling is effective — I've run 150W tests for hours without thermal throttling.

Four-wire Kelvin measurement is the real deal

I rebuild 18650 packs from recycled laptop batteries and the difference between two-wire and four-wire measurement is night and day. My previous tester was under-reporting capacity by 8-12% due to contact resistance in the cell holders. This tester's Kelvin sensing eliminated that entirely. The CSV export means I can document every cell's discharge curve for customers. Worth every cent.
