Most fixtures fail the second job. They hang low enough to catch an eye, wide enough to crowd a low ceiling, or decorative enough that the decoration is all anyone notices. The answer is not less design. It is a flatter one.

This fixture is a disc: forty centimetres across and five centimetres deep, mounted flush to the ceiling. That depth is the entire design decision. At five centimetres it sits inside the ceiling plane instead of hanging beneath it, which means it works in a room with a standard 2.6-metre ceiling without lowering the visual headroom, and it stops being the thing your eye lands on when you walk in. What you notice instead is the light on the wall.

Inside, a 36-watt integrated LED module does the work across a 90 to 260 volt input, so the same fixture runs on a 110-volt supply or a 220-volt one without a transformer. The body is iron and aluminium finished in painted white, which is why it reads as a single continuous ring rather than an assembly of parts. The dimmable version ships with its remote control, so intensity is set from the sofa rather than from a wall switch you have to walk to.
