Q: Will it fit an existing drain point?

Q: Does the gold finish wear off?
The colour is a lacquered finish over brushed stainless, not a painted coating. It handles normal cleaning chemistry, but abrasive pads and chloride-based descalers will dull any lacquered metal, this one included.
Q: How do I clean the trap?
Lift the top plate, remove the strainer basket, rinse it, and put it back. Hair and soap residue collect in the basket by design, which is why it is removable without tools.
Q: Will it stop smells from the sewer?
The deodorising core is a physical barrier at the drain, which is what stops gas and insects travelling back up. It is not a substitute for a correctly vented soil stack.
Q: Is a plumber required to install it?
Yes for a new floor, because the drain body is set into the screed and the tile bed is cut around it. Replacing an existing 100 mm drain plate with the same footprint is a simpler job, but still a plumbing one.
