描述

The best part of paddling is the part where you are not pumping. Ask anyone who has inflated a paddle board by hand on a hot morning: the romance of the water ends somewhere around 12 PSI, when the strokes get shorter, the board stops moving and the sun has already found the back of your neck. The Shoreline Air exists to delete that entire paragraph from your day. It is the difference between arriving at the water ready and arriving at the water already tired.

Inside the housing is a 5200mAh, 18.5-volt battery pack rated at 96.2 watt-hours, driving a two-stage pump capable of 20 PSI. The unit weighs 1.63 kilograms and measures 221.5 by 165.8 millimetres, which is small enough to live in the board bag and heavy enough that it will not wander off on a windy beach. Charging is by USB, so the same cable that tops up a phone tops up the pump, and there is no separate power brick to forget at home. Run it flat on the sand and it will still start the next session, provided you recharge it before you go back out.

The intelligence in the machine is in its three working modes. In Auto, the fan stage runs while pressure is under 0.8 PSI and hands over to the compressor above that threshold, which is how a high-volume board inflates quickly at the start and precisely at the finish. In Low, the fan alone pushes the maximum air volume at up to 1 PSI, which is what you want for air mattresses, towables and anything with a soft target. In High, the compressor alone delivers the pressure - up to 20 PSI - which is where paddle boards and rigid-hull inflatables actually live. You select a target, start the pump, and walk away. It stops when the number is reached. Two long-term habits keep it alive: keep it out of damp storage so the battery is never stressed, and put it on charge at least once every six months if it is sitting out the winter.

Set the pressure. Walk away. The water is already waiting.

Application Scenarios

Designed for the paddler who wants the first twenty minutes of the day back. Stand-up paddle boarders use High mode to hit board pressure at the water edge instead of at the car. Kayakers and packrafters run Low mode for bulk air and then switch to High for the final firming pass. Campers inflate air mattresses and towables without a foot pump. Beach and lake families keep one in the boot for every inflatable they own. Because the pump is battery powered and USB charged, it also works where there is no car nearby to draw power from.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How high can this pump inflate?

It reaches 20 PSI, which covers the recommended pressure range of the great majority of stand-up paddle boards and rigid inflatable boats.

Q: What is the difference between the three modes?

Auto switches between the high-volume fan and the high-pressure compressor automatically. Low runs the fan only for large air volume at up to 1 PSI. High runs the compressor only for pressure up to 20 PSI.

Q: Does it stop on its own?

Yes. Set the target pressure and the pump shuts off automatically when that number is reached, so you do not have to stand over it.

Q: How long does the battery last?

The 96.2Wh pack is sized for a full inflation session and typically leaves charge for the next one. Recharge by USB between outings.

Q: How should I store it over winter?

Keep it in a dry place, away from damp, and put it on charge at least once every six months. Leaving the battery fully discharged for a long period shortens its life.

Q: Will it inflate a kayak or an air mattress?

Yes. Use Low mode for high-volume low-pressure items such as air mattresses, kayaks and towables, and High mode only for items that specify a firm pressure target.

Great, remember to charge it

Took it out of winter storage and the battery was flat, which the instructions do warn about. A six month top up solves it. Everything else has been faultless.

Lives in the board bag

Weighs about the same as a water bottle and charges from the same cable as my phone. Used it for the kayak and two air mattresses on the same trip without a recharge.

No more foot pump

Inflated my ten foot paddle board to pressure while I carried the bag down to the water. Auto mode switched over on its own and the pump shut off at the target.
